Team - Emily Russell

Emily Russell ProfileEmily originates from Hamilton – a town in South Lanarkshire, in the west-central Lowlands of Scotland. She has been skating for around 8 years now and started really because she watched the guys doing it and the tricks they were landing really impressed her and she thought it looked a lot of fun. Emily was actually 10 years old when she got her first “proper” board, a Christmas present. From then on she learned to skate at her local park in Blantyre. Emily believes that skateboarding makes you more open minded because of the wide variety of interesting people that skate.

Emily is now studying Human Biology and Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University. She was very interested in doing the course because as she wasn’t too sure about which area she wanted to specialise in, she found that by studying a more general course it would keep her options open. So far the bits which have interested her most have been the human biology section which is broken down into anatomy and physiology, cells and bio-molecules and human nutrition.
